Inner Richmond · San Francisco
Two obsessions.
One room.
Japanese single cultivar matcha. Filipino-inspired espresso. Hi-fi vinyl on the floor. 189 6th Ave, Inner Richmond.
Find UsWhere kissaten culture meets hi-fi obsession.
In postwar Japan, kissaten weren't just coffee shops — they were listening rooms. Owners built their whole identity around a record collection and the system to play it on. You came for the music as much as the coffee.
We named ourselves after that tradition. Every cup is paired with a record. The matcha is Japanese single cultivar, stone-ground. The espresso draws on Filipino coffee culture — the boldness of the archipelago in a small cup.
Order the Letter From the Shogun. Or the Thrilla in Manila. Every drink tells a story — the record spinning overhead tells the rest.
"San Francisco just got a hi-fi vinyl coffee shop where the soundtrack is just as good as the drinks."
